1. Application for a new passport.

This option is usually for applicants who have never taken a US Passport or when the passport has expired. 2. Passport renewal. 

The renewal services are available for US citizens with a currently valid passport. In this case, you will require a different form than the one used by new applicants. 3. Stolen or lost passport.

This is usually a common problem that faces travelers especially those who travel infrequently. However, there are procedures that protect such event. When such an event occurs, you should inform the US Department of State. This usually helps to flag the passport and minimize chance identity theft. 

4. Adding passport pages. 

Usually, a standard passport has 28 pages. Of the 28 pages, 17 are used for entry and exit stamps. For people who travel more, they need more pages.
